This was my first time going on a trip and not having to worry about anything. I’m usually the person that likes to take charge, book the hotels, transportation, plan out the days including where and when to eat in advance. But this time I didn’t have to worry about that thanks to Good Life Expedition! I was taking part in a medical mission with MEDLIFE in Lima, Peru and decided to go a few days early to explore Cusco and Machu Picchu. Our travel agent Claudia Cavero was very responsive, took care of all of the arrangements, and answered all of my questions before the trip. Once in Cusco, we were greeted by the most the amazing tour guide, Mateo. He was such a pleasure to be around, knew so much history, and really took the time to get to know all of us individually. Our guides Mateo and Hiroshi went above and beyond for our large group which touched us all.
I also took part in the full day Ica Tour which started off with a 3am bus ride down the Peruvian coast to Paracas. We went on a boat tour of the Paracas Peninsula, saw the Ballestas island, along with many penguins and sea lions. Next stop was in Huacachina, a beautiful desert oasis where we had an amazing experience sand boarding and riding in the sand buggies. The last stop was a tour of the Bodega Catador. If you have an extra day to spare, definitely sign up for the Ica Tour, you won’t regret it.
Overall, I had an amazing experience traveling to Peru thanks to Good Life Expeditions. They definitely made this a memorable trip.
